As we begin to reopen the country, we all have a feeling of uncertainty going into spaces we used to have no worries about. The grocery store, a restaurant, your own cubicle are all spaces that we used to frequent. At SERVPRO of Midtown Manhattan we are offering our disinfectant services to ease employee and customers minds about entering places of business. Within the city we have a responsibility to take care of our fellow neighbors. 

Practicing preventative cleaning for reopening is imperative. When SERVPRO of Midtown Manhattan comes into your space we are able to disinfect your space with EPA approved products. With the volume of calls coming in, we want to make sure you have the proper service. Because of this, we are scheduling several weeks in advance, as we understand these are unforeseen times. We plan to lead you through every step of the way. 

We are providing disinfecting services for COVID-19 as well as general detailed cleanings for unoccupied homes collecting dust. 

Our Disinfectant services include:

• Ultra Low Volume (ULV) misting or electrostatic spray of certain affected areas with EPA approved hospital grade disinfectant. This mist will eradicate any aerosolized particles allowing for a safer entry of decontamination personnel.

• Electrostatic spray application of EPA Approved Hospital Grade disinfectant. Positively charged ions are produced within the chemical which adhere to surfaces in the affected area. This ensures total coverage of the affected area. 

• Surface wiping of critical contact areas. Fixtures, keyboards, phones, door handles, certain contents within the affected area are hand wiped. A 5-10 minute dwell time should be allowed post wipe down. Walls up to a height of approximately 5’ throughout traffic areas.

• Technicians will wear half face respirators with P100 filters, coveralls, goggles and nitrile gloves.

Since many homes have been vacant for some time, we also offer a detailed floor to ceiling deep cleaning, from base molding to crown molding including: content manipulation, steam cleaning of drapes, carpets and upholstered furniture if needed. We would clean every square foot leaving your home in immaculate condition. 

In addition, you would receive a dedicated team, seal of approval, an email update of job progress with photos of our crew onsite. Lastly, we will create an Emergency Ready Profile customized to your property as supplemental guidance for response protocol in the event of an emergency. At SERVPRO of Midtown Manhattan, we are stepping up to ensure the safety of every member of our community. “Crews are working in the field and administrative staff are working from home everyday. We are doing the most we can right now to help those in need,” said Robert Citrangola, owner of SERVPRO of Midtown Manhattan. Robert has been following SERVPRO for years and has owned his own franchise for a decade. He gave us firsthand accounts on how it was being on the front lines in one of the hardest hit cities, New York City. While each job brings its own anxieties, we are grateful to be able to help in this fight that is affecting our home and family. We will be there from the start of this to the end of this.

Robert has found that keeping connected to the community and to his team is vital during this time. He wants to ensure that his team is prepared and ready to be fully beneficial to the city. Coronavirus has continued to rise in New York City, but as people continue to venture out it is imperative that we continue to serve our community by keeping New York City clean.

“As a leading clean-up force in this, we have to treat each job with extra attention and care. This is a difficult time for people, so we need to always remember to treat our clients with a new sense of understanding. This is imperative to keeping our business strong. Antimicrobial Agents: 

Are any chemicals that prevent the spread of microorganisms through water or on damp surfaces and materials. If we believe that black or gray water has contaminated the space, we will use antimicrobial agents to clear out any toxic matter.

Disinfectants:

We use a hospital-grade disinfectant that is healthy and safe. The disinfectant will kill 99% of all encountered organisms. This will leave your surfaces almost completely sterile. Chemicals such as alcohol, chlorine, or formaldehyde may be used to ensure all surfaces are clear of bacteria.

Sanitizers: 

When using a sanitizer our aim is to lower the amount of microbes to a level that is safe for ‘public use.’ Sanitizers are usually not used alone because they are not strong enough to eradicate all of the bacteria. We don’t want to risk the chance of bacteria returning, so we may combine sanitizers with other cleaning agents.

Sterilants 

Sterilants eradicate fungi spores and are a very effective chemical. Sterilants prevent the spread of mold in water damaged areas. This chemical cannot be applied to every surface, so we are careful with what we use them on.
