Asbestos is a mineral fiber that is known to be extremely dangerous. While many know that asbestos is hazardous, they may not know of the harms that can come from asbestos and how important it is to get rid of asbestos.
Shortness of breath: Your respiratory tract is where you will most commonly find issues when you have been exposed to asbestos. Shortness of breath is the main symptom that you will find from someone that has been exposed to asbestos.
Mesothelioma: This is a rare lung cancer; you will often see symptoms of shortness of breath and chest pain. You may also experience abdominal mesothelioma which can result in weight loss, pain and swelling in the abdomen, bowel obstruction, fever, anemia and more.
Lung cancer: The symptoms of lung cancer you may see from asbestos include hoarseness, wheezing, coughing or coughing up blood, persistent chest pain, anemia and weight loss as well.
Asbestos is extremely harmful… inhaling the fibers that are released when there is asbestos around can lead to serious disease and it may even lead to death. You need to make sure you get rid of asbestos immediately after you it has been detected to avoid these hazards.
