What to Do After a Kitchen Fire

1/23/2019 (Permalink)

It has happened to many people. Something goes wrong in the kitchen. This results in a kitchen fire. Do you know what to do after a kitchen fire happens? There's tons of cleaning involved.

The first thing you are going to want to do is clean the area itself. This includes the walls, the ceilings, as well as the counters and other ares you might find soot. You'll need to open windows to air out some of the smoke smell. A fan can be beneficial for this.

The pots and pans and other cooking utensils you use will need to be cleaned as well. This is easy enough to do with your typical dish detergent. You will need to be thorough though when cleaning them.

The furniture in the kitchen will also need to be cleaned. Some things might have to go if they have been damaged too much. Again, just as you have with everything else, you will want to be sure your cleaning is thorough as the soot and smoke might be hard to get rid of.

If you are having too much of a hard time figuring out how to get everything cleaned, then you are in luck. There are places who specialize in this. SERVPRO is one such place in New York. Call them if you are in the NYC area as they are experts in this industry and have all the useful and powerful tools to get the work done.
